| How far in advance do I need to book my
event?
A. Typically hotels need advance notice of at least 2 - 3 months
for an event. The larger your event the more advance notice the
better. A wedding should be booked at least 6 months in advance
and a year is not unusual.
What is the typical deposit required?
A. 50% is generally required when the contract is signed. The
balance is due the day of the event. Be sure to check the hotel/caterer
for any penalties that may apply for cancellation of your event.
Each hotel/caterer is different but typically, 25% is charged with
any cancellation after the contract is signed. Cancellation within
7 days of an event 50% and many hotels/caterers will require 100%
payment if you cancel within 3 days of your function.
How far in advance will I need to confirm the
number of guests?
A. You should have a general idea of the number of guests when
you sign the contract. A final count is usually required within
2 weeks. Please check with your vendor to verify their policy.
Who has the largest banquet facilities?
A. For a seated event, Guam Hotel Okura, Guam Marriott Resort,
Hilton Guam Resort & Spa, the Hyatt Regency Guam and the Palace
Hotel can seat 500 persons and in some cases a few more depending
on whether a stage or dance floor is required.
What if my party is larger than the maximum
capacities listed?
A. Talk to the hotel about accommodating your guests in a variety
of smaller rooms which are adjacent to the main ballroom. Or, set
up the buffet in the lobby area to maximize sitting room.
