Cream of Clam Soup

1 Tbs butter
1 cup bottled clam juice
1 cup canned clams with their liquid
1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
2 cups milk
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Paprika for garnish

Combine the butter, clam juice, clams, cream, and milk in a saucepan and bring almost to a boil over moderate heat. Season with salt and pepper and serve garnished with a sprinkle of paprika.

Yield: 4 to 6 Servings
