Indian Fritters or Bhajias


2 cups of Chickpea flour
2 tsp of chili powder
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1/4 tsp baking soda
Water as required
Oil to fry
1 1/2 cups of assorted vegetables cut into thick round slices like potatoes, eggplant, bell pepper, paneer cut into squares or slices of white bread cut into four pieces each

Mix flour, salt, chili powder, turmeric, cumin seeds and soda together. Add enough water to make the batter of dropping consistency. Heat oil in a frying pan. Dip the slices of vegetables, bread or paneer in the flour batter, allow the batter to coat them fully and deep fry till golden brown. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
