Sweet & Sour Chicken Wings

2 lbs chicken wings, disjointed
Monosodium glutamate (optional, as many people are allergic to it)
1 egg, beaten
cornstarch or flour (for dredging)
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup vinegar
3 Tbs soy sauce
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup chicken stock or water
Generously sprinkle chicken pieces with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Add monosodium glutamate, if desired.
Dip pieces in beaten egg and dredge in cornstarch or flour. Brown in oil.
Combine ingredients for the sauce.
Place browned chicken in baking pan and pour sauce over it. Bake in oven at 350F for 1/2 hour.
Turn pieces after first ten minutes. You may also finish cooking chicken in large frying pan on top of the stove.
Yield: 4 Servings
