Christmas Ornament Dough


4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup salt
1/4 cup cinnamon
3 Tbs nutmeg
2 Tbs ground clove
about 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water

Optional: dough can be glazed with egg white before baking for a richer color. Sift dry ingredients together. Add water until dough is the consistency of molding clay. For best results, wrap dough in plastic and refrigerate at least an hour. Roll dough out and cut with cookie cutters or free-form the ornament design. Hold any pieces together with a wash of egg whites as 'glue'. After the cookies are shaped, bake in a preheated 300 degree oven for 1 hour. To preserve: brush or spray with polyurethane.

Do not eat!
