1 cup water
1/2 cup clean cashews
3/4 cup warm, well-cooked cornmeal*
4 tsp fresh lemon juice
3 cloves garlic
1 Tbs food yeast flakes
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dill weed
butter flavoring, to taste (optional)
* To prepare cornmeal, cook 1/2 cup dry fine cornmeal in 2 cups salted water.
Process cashews with about 1/2 cup of water in a blender until very smooth. Add remaining water and other ingredients and continue blending until smooth. Keep refrigerated in an airtight container.
Use this topping to make a tasty and healthier garlic bread.
