Mulled Wine
This recipe should only be viewed if you are of legal drinking age.


1 bottle dry red wine
1 lemon, sliced
1 orange, sliced, plus additional slices for garnish
2 cloves
1 cinnamon stick, or 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
A generous grating of fresh nutmeg
Sugar to taste (optional)

Combine the wine, lemon, orange, and spices in a pot over low heat and cook, stirring occasionally, until the wine is hot but not boiling. Sweeten with sugar if desired. Strain out the solids and serve garnished with a slice of orange.

Yield: 4 to 6 Servings
