Prawn Curry

1 to 1 1/2 cups shelled prawns
1 onion chopped
2 green chilies slit lengthwise
1 tsp dried tamarind
1 cup coconut cream
1 cup of water
2 Tbs coriander leaves chopped
salt to taste

To be ground:
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp coriander seeds
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
4 flakes garlic
a small piece of ginger
8 to 10 dry red chilies

Make a paste of all the ingredients mentioned above adding a tsp or two of water if necessary to make a smooth paste. Fry the onion in a little oil till light brown. Add prawns and fry till the color changes.Add the paste, water and coconut cream and simmer till the gravy is reduced to half. Soak the tamarind in 1/4 cup of water and extract the juice. Add to the gravy gradually with the salt and cook till the gravy is thick and creamy. Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
