  Chocolate Macadamia Sauce

1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup whipping cream
7 ozs semisweet chocolate, chopped
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 cup of macadamia nuts, chopped

Stir sugar and water in heavy small saucepan over low heat until sugar dissolves. Add cream and bring to boil. Remove from heat; add chocolate and which until melted and smooth. Whisk in vanilla extract and salt. Stir in macadamia nuts. Store in a glass jar. There is enough to fill two 8-ounce jars. Seal tightly and refrigerate. Rewarm over low heat stirring constantly before using.

Yield: About 1 3/4 cups

This makes a great gift. Tie ribbons on the jars and attach instructions on how to rewarm the sauce.
