Lone Star
Restaurant Review by Ken Stewart, The Guam Food Guy
July 2001

You gotta give the guy credit! That's what I say about Brian Artero, General Manager of Lone Star Steakhouse. After all, how many restaurant operator's would listen to their wife's food suggestion and put it on the menu? When Brian and bride, Marlo, were in the Mainland checking out dining trends, she found something that caught her fancy (that was also popular among a lot of the ladies), which was a Spinach Artichoke Dip.

Well, they've come up with their own formulation of this rich and creamy blend of spinach and artichokes, and it is served with a pile of red and black corn tortilla chips. A great appetizer for a value of $6.99. Other items on the recently-introduced "NEW TEXAS PLEASERS" appetizer menu is the Santa Fe Salad, which is a colorful palette of black beans, Monterey Jack cheese, avocados, and corn tortilla strips mixed with crisp romaine lettuce and tossed with Santa Fe dressing; a Cobb Salad, a Mediterranean Salad that sounds scrumptious; and, for you "VEGETARIANS", a "Garden Burger", the original proprietary version (Mushrooms, onions, rice with ground vegetables and nuts, served on a toasted whole wheat bun with lettuce, tomato, pickle and onion ($6.99). These new appetizers are available for lunch and dinner.
